A little bit of history

How it all began

When Lithuanian-Australian poker professional Antanas "Tony G" Guoga started PokerNews in 2002, the project was born out of a feeling that the poker community needed more thorough, accurate, and timely coverage.

At that time poker was just a blip on the radar, and although PokerNews was a market leader, things really took shape with the global explosion of poker, and more importantly online poker. PokerNews took a global approach. Tony G and team focused not only on the major markets but build a framework for growth by running a variety of English speaking editions alongside Dutch, French, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Greek, Danish, Hebrew, Romanian, Czech, Bulgarian, Ukrainian and Slovenian-language sites.

In 2007, PokerNews was recognized for its authority, unmatched reach, and quality of coverage when it began working as the official media partner of the World Series of Poker, a privilege it’s maintained over the past eight years.

Growth intensified during the poker boom, and the site that millions of loyal readers love today began to take shape. The office in Lithuania continued to grow led by COO Juras Jursenas, and CTO Justinas Becius. Matthew Parvis was brought in to oversee the creative direction, and PokerNews soon began covering the biggest live poker events around the world including the European Poker Tour, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour, the World Poker Tour, Aussie Millions and dozens more.

April 2013, Jon Squires was appointed as CEO by Tony G who began aspire to bigger things politically speaking.

In March 2015, the iBus Media Group entered the world of Daily Fantasy Sports with the acquisition of Fantasy Wired, one of the leading portals in the fantasy sports space.

Online since 2013, FantasyWired is a popular portal dedicated to daily fantasy sports and geared at helping new and experienced daily fantasy sports players craft their line-ups, find good values, and become winning daily fantasy sports players.
